Pierce, one year after ...
A year ago, Mary Pierce was leaving the tennis court of Linz on a litter, the knee badly injured. Sinc, she's treating to come back.

Mary Pierce lives in London, in a flat she rents. Like every 31-year-old women, she goes shopping, goes to concerts, visits the town in the English bus, goes to the theater or to the music-hall. One year ago to the day, in Linz, wheareas she already owned 3 match points against Zvonareva ad after a great point, the former Roland Garros and Australian Open Champion felt on her left knee in a deep shout. Evacuated on a litter, she couldnt avoid the surgical operation. Hmm, why in London ?
"Since Wimbledon, I work with Amish, a kine who controls my daily work. Since 5 months, I've been twice in the States during 2 weeks, in Arizona, to see specialists to recover quicly. I saw osteopaths, chiropractors. I'm a "supporter" of the soft medecine, all what's bio, natural. I wanna be sure I do my best to help my knee and all my body to recover."
Since a month, Mary "toddles". The word "footing" is banned from her vocabulary for the moment : "Firt, I learnt again walking, and then running slowly. Every day, I do musculation, gainage, cardio session on a bike". And, little by little, her left leg begins to look like her right one. "I lost everything, moaned Mary. You could really see the difference (between her two legs), it was terrible.

Two weeks ago, she could play tennis, on a real court, with a friend of the WTA tour, Nicole Pratt, who introduced Amish to Mary. "And all at once, I refound all my sensations ! When I wasn't playing, I didn't miss it, but when I hit the ball, it has been really great ! It gave me lots of confidence."
Will we see Mary on a court again ?
"Desire is in my heart", said Mary with her little american accent. But she's to be patient. "First, I believed I would be ready for the French, then for a tournament of the end of the year, but it has not been possible." So, she puts all her hopes on the next Australian Open : "Doctors assert I could come back stronger than before. I work that hard that I believe it. I've got two months left. My brother, David, joined me serveral days ago, we hit the ball together ... I follow all matches on tv or on the web, and every time, I said to myself "I could be there". When I saw the court in Linz, I guffaw "Oh ! But it's exactly here that I felt ! It seems like it was yesterday. This year has gone so quickly, that's unbelievable !"
And, has Mary thought to what she'll do if her knee never recovers ? "Of course. I I don't recover, it would mean that there is a reason, and that it's time to think to my reconversion."
But the champion pays a lot her desire of pushing back her own borders.
